TRAVERSAL
Traversal is a collection deeply inspired by creative director Ou Ma's grandfather. Ou spent her childhood engulfed in his artistry of painting and carried his artwork throughout her own journey from Beijing to New York, and now residing in Vancouver.
Her grandfather's name 'Huanzhou' translates to 'around the globe'. He never had the opportunity to do so, but Ou's worldly travels and wanderlust energy allows her to feel as though she is doing it in honor of him now. The OUMA brand is rooted in Asian culture but was shaped by the lifestyles and adventures Ou has experienced.
The Traversal collection takes OUMA's signature textured fabrics to another level. Alternative to whimsical and romantic tulle, Ou uses more structural fabrics such as mikado, and silk back crepe to create the organic drapes and textures. Clean cut and modern silhouettes combined with one-of-a-kind embroidery, OUMA goes back deeply to her roots and finds out what she represents.
